HOW TO USE THIS PROGRAM

PREPARATION KIT

The Abstract of Articles is a list of suggested articles and insights on teen driving. It is a resource tool designed to give both parent and teen additional advice about teaching and learning to drive. Use the e-mail from DITzone to obtain your links. We suggest that you scan the directory and select the articles of interest, then use the links provided. Read them and personalize your training program.

The Situational Document is a additional tool for alerting you and your teen to certain scenarios that normal training activities may not cover. Review these scenarios together and discuss what to do and not do. Your teen's awareness could result in spotting and avoiding potential dangers. Use the link provided in the e-mail received from DITzone to obtain your document for printing.

APPRENTICE KIT

The DITzone Contract establishes the ground rules for the privilege of driving to be granted and maintained. Use the e-mail received from DITzone to obtain your document for printing. Print copies of the contract for yourself and your teen to be used during the drafting stage. Once you all agree to the terms and conditions, print and prepare your 'Final' version. Sign, date and provide a copy to your teen driver. Remember to complete your future review dates and adhere to the schedule.

After your teen has acquired a driving permit, use the DITzone Signs to notifying drivers that the operator is driving under a temporary permit.

The DITzone Signs will be shipped to you. All signs should be placed on the vehicle so that other drivers can easily see them. We suggest that you place one on front-hood area or driver's side fender, and one on the rear trunk-area so that permit driver is easily identified as being in the Driver in Training Zone. If you choose the magnetic DITzone signs you may attach at beginning and remove at the end of all training sessions. The removable adhesive DITzone signs cannot be reapplied once removed, that is why we provide extra.

PROBATIONARY KIT

After your teen has successfully completed his or her road test and is ready to begin solo driving, or has been already driving independently for a period of time, use the DITzone Emblems to continue notifying other drivers that your teen is still within a probationary period. The DITzone Emblem indicates that this driver is still gaining experience and needs some patience and space.

The DITzone Emblems will be shipped to you. They should be placed on the rear of the vehicle so that other drivers can easily see them. We suggest that you place them on the rear trunk area.

Accountability programs have been proven to reduce accidents within most categories that employ them. DITzone is pleased to offer a Driver Accountability Program Rebate to parents of beginner drivers.

Preview at SafetyMatters and if you purchase the Program or the Probationary Kit, DITzone will contact you with instructions on how to obtain your $10 rebate on a subscription. Subscribe to their program and SafteyMatters will send details directly to you.

The 411-Journal is a resource to be used by drivers when encountering one of the following: a minor accident; flat tire; dead-battery; breakdown; and a chart to fill in with basic maintenance information for your vehicle.

The 411-Journal will be shipped to you. The 411-Journal comes with a pen to record pertinent information in the event of a minor accident and it has a document holder. We suggest that you discuss the emergency instructions and procedures with your teen driver and keep the 411-Journal in the glove box of your vehicle.
